Distortions

My artistic journey is deeply influenced by the work of the renowned photographer André Kertesz, particularly his 'Distortions' series, which sparked my fascination with experimentations in the representation of the human body. As an homage to Kertesz's influence, I've titled my own series in tribute to his extraordinary vision.

Within my artistic practice, I explore the nature of the human form through two distinct mediums: photography and printmaking.

Through the use of doubled representation, each composition in the series tells a compelling story of the human body. By focusing on its complexity and continuity, I aim to challenge the viewer's perception and blur the boundaries between obvious body parts. This deliberate disruption of consistency in representation invites viewers to contemplate the fluidity and diversity of the human experience within each piece.

As I delve deeper into this artistic exploration, I aim to not only pay homage to Kertesz's enduring legacy but also to forge my own path in pushing the boundaries of visual representation.
